Dr Raj Dangi

Dr Raj Dangi is a Consultant Psychiatrist providing assessment and treatment for adults aged 18–65 at Boronia Consulting Suites. With over 20 years of clinical experience across Australia, the United Kingdom, and India, he offers compassionate, evidence-based care for a wide range of mental health conditions.
Dr Dangi treats common and complex psychiatric disorders, with particular expertise in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, adult ADHD, sleep difficulties, and stress-related conditions. He is frequently consulted for diagnostic clarification, medication review, and management of situations where previous treatments have not been fully effective or where multiple difficulties occur together.
His approach is calm, respectful, and collaborative. He takes time to understand each person’s history, concerns, goals, and works closely with patients to develop clear, personalised treatment plans. His practice adheres to recovery focussed, holistic, personalised care, blending use of effective medications, together with practical psychological strategies and supportive therapy to improve day- to-day functioning, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Dr Dangi believes in treating the whole person rather than just symptoms. He strives to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in decisions about their care. He also works closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and continuous support.
He provides culturally sensitive care and speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, which can be particularly helpful for patients from South Asian backgrounds.
Dr Dangi is Clinical Director at Shepparton Mental Health Services and holds Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych), UK.
He is actively involved in medical education as a supervisor of psychiatry trainees and an Honorary Lecturer at Monash University, and has contributed to research and quality improvement initiatives.
